The Story
I would
say that everyone has a story; the truth is that everyone
has millions of stories. All the experiences you've ever
had remain with you as a story in your mind.
Each and every time that you rehash an event in your mind
you are reliving that particular story and no matter how it
felt when you originally experienced the event - that's
exactly the same way you will feel when you think about it
again; unless, of course, you've changed the story.
That's the trick to it all. Taking a negative happening and
finding the good in it, therefore, altering the way you
look at it. Changing your perspective on a negative story
is extremely important so that you don’t use it in a
similar situation as proof that it’s the way life is. That
type of acceptance can only render you powerless to change
a situation you dislike. After all if you don’t believe it
can be changed you won’t even attempt to.
That something may be how others take advantage of you, how
life isn't fair, how bad a boss you have, how you're not
good enough and so many other possible beliefs.
You have a choice. You can choose the story or you can
choose the actions that will change your life. The story is
nothing more than that - a tale of the past. Put it where
it belongs and move into action. You have many options;
pick the ones that move you to the greatest you can be; the
ones that will fill your soul and bring you joy.
You deserve it.
